Our mission:
To enhance the Library through Fundraising, Advocacy, and Volunteerism
Each year the library staff provides the Board of the Friends with a funding request. These funds are used to cover costs of programs, supplies and other support, but not for staff salaries and benefits; those costs remain the responsibility of the City. Through your donations alone, Friends of the Prescott Public Library has raised over $298,348 for the library the last year.

Join friends…donate today. As an engaged citizen, your gift will support our library and help raise the quality of life for all of our citizens.
Volunteer
The Friends Book Sale, which is run by a dedicated staff of library volunteers, earns enough money annually to cover all of the children’s programming, and the majority of adult programming.
Advocacy
Friends advocates on behalf of the library. We cannot advocate for individual candidates given our 201(c)3 status, but do campaign for issues related to the library.
Our Impact
There are Friends of the library and then there are the Friends. The Friends were organized to help a good library become even better. Since its founding in 1968, the Friends of the Prescott Public Library have raised enough money to enhance Prescott’s Living Room. The Friends also accept and administer funds given to the benefit of the library. Membership dues, donations of books and magazines and contributions and bequests turn into counteless library services and Friends of the Prescott Public Library programs. It’s magic.

Become a Friend
Every fall, the Friends have an annual membership campaign. A brochure and letter are mailed to Friends, as well as made available to potential new friends of the library. These efforts have brought our membership to over 800.
Endowment Information
Friends of the Prescott Public Library are pleased to announce an established endowment with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF). ACF works with local and statewide communities to build and grow philanthropic resources for Arizona’s future. The Friends are proud to have created an avenue, through ACF, for lifetime and legacy giving to benefit the Prescott Public Library for future generations. Your gift to the Friends will provide library programming for children and adults in our community for years to come.
